Jackie Robinson is one of only four players drawn by Mike Floyd and produced as a Limited Edition (Others include Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra and Brooks Robinson). We offer no other item that so artfully celebrates each player as these do. Each ball is a beautiful combination of photo-realistic player images, career achievements, awards and statistics that cover every ball from seam to seam. Reproduced from entirely hand drawn artwork, only 100 of these elegant baseballs will ever be produced. Every baseball is made of leather and sequentially numbered. Mike Floyd
Mike Floyd grew up in Bethesda, MD (and is still a Washington Senators fan) but currently lives in Westport, CT. Mike has been drawing from about the time he could pick up a crayon and has not stopped since. Mike attended Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. It was there that Mike realized his love of art and worked hard to develop his skills in not just illustration but also design and conceptual thinking as well. Upon graduation he moved to Chicago to pursue a career in advertising. For the next 15 years, this would prove to be the perfect blend of illustration, photography, design and conceptual skills. Then, in 1999 Mike and his family moved to Upstate New York, with the plan of becoming a full-time artist. Since Mike is a dedicated sports fan and collector it seems that Mike has found the perfect blend once again. He began by drawing on an old baseball one night in July 2003. Since then, his artwork has developed in great detail. Each ball includes player composites, career statistics, and vintage-photographic-quality illustrations that are created completely by hand. The response to his work has been overwhelming and his ability to capture the great players of sports-past is greatly appreciated among the serious sports and art collectors.
